SC-105 Dioptase on Calcite
Tsumeb, Namibia
ex. Erik Louw Collection
Miniature, 4.75 x 3 x 2 cm

John Schneider Photo

A brilliantly lustrous dioptase specimen with sharp crystals to 1.7 cm perched on an unusual greenish matrix of dolomite or calcite. This is a gorgeous piece of TOP quality level for the collector of competition-level miniatures. Erik Louw was a miner on the dioptase stope who traded extensively and accumulated one of the finest Tsumeb miniatures collections, purchased in entirety by the Sussmans in the late 1990's.

Tsumeb, Namibia
ex. Erik Louw collection

John Schneider Photo

A HUGE compound crystal of intergrown dioptase crystals, measuring just over 3 cm across! Pristine and perfect all around. Erik Louw was a miner on the dioptase stope who traded extensively and accumulated one of the finest Tsumeb miniatures collections, purchased in entirety by the Sussmans in the late 1990's.

SC-96 Dioptase (SOLD)

A startlingly sculptural specimen! Pristine and perfect all around. Erik Louw was a miner on the dioptase stope who traded extensively and accumulated one of the finest Tsumeb miniatures collections, purchased in entirety by the Sussmans in the late 1990's.

SC-184 Dioptase
Tsumeb, Namibia
Miniature, 4.25 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm

A choice miniature with pristine, brilliant crystals to almost 2 cm (the dt in the center). Like most dioptase, the color and lustre do not photograph well and it is MUCH better in person.

SC-76 Dioptase on Calcite (SOLD)
Tsumeb, Namibia
Small Cabinet, 7 x 6 x 5 cm

John Schneider Photo

An exceptional example of this classic and highly desirable association, because of its pristine condition, excellent individualized dioiptase, and the quality of the sharp rhomboedhral calcite itself.

SC-97 Dioptase on Calcite (SOLD)
Tsumeb, Namibia
Small Cabinet, 7 x 7 x 4 cm

An amazing specimen in that such isolated, sharp, pristine dioptase crystals are rare as can be. This superb piece features two perfect crysatls, nicely situated on a well-trimmed calcite matrix. It is the ideal association piece for the collector who likes such a superb display of crystallography instead of the usual more jumbled appearance of dioptase specimens. Comes with custom-made lucite base.

SC-71 Dioptase on Calcite stalactites (SOLD)
Tsumeb, Namibia
ex. Zweibels 1992
Cabinet, 14 x 11 x 4.5 cm

John Schneider Photo

I have admired this specimen for years, for its dramatic display qualities. It is LARGE, if you measure it out, and completely pristine ALL AROUND. It is complete 360-degrees, and is a cluster of several large calcite stalactites on which are sprinkled the brightest, greenest dioptase crystals you could ask for. The contrast and sculptural form together make it one of the most striking dioptase specimens around. Comes with custom-made lucite base

SC-146 Dioptase on Dolomite
Tsumeb, Namibia
Cabinet, 13 x 8 x 3 cm

This cabinet-sized specimen is priced as it would be if the matrix were calcite, but in fact the association with crystallized dolomite is MUCH rarer and this is significant for that fact.

SC-63 Dioptase on Calcite (SOLD)
Tsumeb, Namibia
Cabinet, 13 x 12 x 4 cm

John Schneider Photo

A MAJOR, 3-dimensional dioptase specimen that is completely and entirely pristine save for a few minor dings at the very bottom edge. Such specimens are almost impossible to obtain today, at any price, and this one practically glows with rich, green color
